Looking forward to summer -- 1m25s I look forward to moving in a different direction. I look forward to setting the stage over the summer. We've had candid conversations, direct conversations, with everybody in that locker room, about the expectations and how we can help them. We all know that the summer time is when people improve, physically, skill wise, all of that is where bonds are made. We don't know the landscape of our team. Draft night and different things, we'll let all of that unfold with Sam, but I look forwrad to starting a new chapter, summer development, and I'm personally looking forward to tonight being over with and beginning a new phase. Can you develop a superstar? -- 2m24s I think it's hard to develop a superstar. You could argue that Kawhi has been developed well and he's grown into something quite elite. I think that that is an outlier. I think that we're hoping to identify somebody maybe within the group we have, could be Nerlens, could be Jo, could be what a ping pong ball and a draft pick provides, but I think to go develop a superstar as you've asked the question, I agree, it's really rare. On moving Nerlens to the 4 -- 3m12s There were some concerns revealed defensively no doubt, when you see him away from the basket, and not having that presence at the rim. The positives of him being able to switch and keep guards in front of him, and athletically he is that gifted, was a positive. I think that him being forced to communicate way more than he had to when he had to just simply run back to the rim. I think that offensively he's shown that he's going to be able to step out a little bit, make some plays off the dribble. In my head I can see how Joel and Nerlens can co-exist. Our big improvement next year is going to have to be offensively, and it's going to have to start with the spacing and the offense that we put them in. I feel like I have a strong opinion on what that should be. So I say the 4 spot, trying him at the 4 spot, although it didn't reflect in any wins, I think that it did show some things that he can be good at and things that I have to do to help him to be able to play that position. Was it tougher this year -- 4m33s For me this was a hard year. To lose 2 years in a row like we did, I would be not telling the truth if that wasn't hard. I feel that the stuff that has gone on, all around, as you've heard me say all year I'm just thrilled with. I try to remind myself all the time, don't get tricked. Really the win/loss record is probably, in a list of what's most important, not in the top 10, if we're really trying to build a program. And so those other things that are in the top 10, I'm just so excited about. We talked a lot about the defense, we talked a lot about sports science, we talked a lot about the infrastructure of how we do things. I think I've said that a lot it's been well documented. So I rate this year, for me, just one that I am very proud of personally, that the foundation of trying to grow this culture and build the program is in fact going the direction that I thought it would and had a chance to grow to. I'm proud of what we've done. When does win/loss go into the top-10 -- 5m50s Next year. Without a doubt. For me it does. It's very hard. When I give you that answer, nobody here can misinterpret what I'm saying. We need to see that we're moving forward. Now how do you quantify that with a number of wins, I'm not prepared to give that answer, but we're all going to come back at this time next year and say 'You know what, we've had a hell of a year, but we have a ways to go'. Everybody's going to, I bet, feel the same thing. So I hope I stand here next year at this time and say 'We did it again. We've moved the program forward.' I feel confident and comfortable saying that now, when I stood here last year, this is a hell of a lot different than when I was here last year, with all the pieces that are growing. We'll all feel it, we'll know it. I don't want to place a number on that quantity, but winning is going to be important next year, and growing the program and moving it forward. Do you have to keep players to keep that program forward, and if there's turnover, how do you have the consistency to move forward.. -- 7m7s We've shown, the coaching staff I feel, the program has shown that if we have a group for a while we can move them forward. It's during the year changes that have hurt us keep moving in that direction. We take a few hits then I think we moved them forward again. At the end of the day, to coach gypsies, to be able to have to coach a revolving door, that's not what I'm looking for. I think that the program understands, Sam understands, Josh understands, that we we need a level of consistency to move it forward. That doesn't mean we have to be pregnant with average players. We're looking for people that can move it forward in a big way. And so if there is a volatility that comes our way because of that last comment, then so be it. Consistency and carry over can't trump the fact that we're looking for talent.
