start of 3rd quarter -- 0m0s I thought we were terminal with our decisions on offense for that period. The start of the 3rd period there was a lot of quick shots. I didnt think the ball changed sides. I I there were a few contested shots, but by and large I thought that we just didn't get the ball through some hands. We didn't score, I don't think, for the first 7 and a half minutes. That part of the game offensively most definitely hurt us. I look forward to seeing the tape. I just felt like we ran nothing. We really didnt have a purpose offensively. I think the tape will confirm that. on whether that contributed to OT struggles -- 0m57s I didn't feel it so much in the overtime. I most definitely felt it at the start of the third. I think that we just had no lift, we had no spirit in the start of the overtime when they started scoring. I felt like we needed a little bit more oomph and continue on with our pace, and we didn't do that. Was 41 three's too many -- 1m25s I don't know. I think each game's different. If you look at it, we had 46 points in the paint attacking the Chicago Bulls, and a lot of our 3's came because we did that. We drove and we kicked out. On first glance, you'd say that's a very large number. It's a big number. I don't think that's where the game was lost. I think when you shoot 12-25 from the free throw line, and you concede a half-court shot at the end of a period, and you shake aaron brooks hand with that tough shot to put it into overtime, you combine those types of unusual circumstances, and you put yourself in a bad position to close out any close game. Canaan / Smith backcourt -- 2m15s I didn't feel that. I thought that was a key to us getting back in it. Yeah, perhaps [more towards the end]. I think that we force some things, but it was also the way that we were able to bring it to overtime, those two little guards, like we did the last game. I did it this game more out of necessity. Last game it was because we wanted to match up with Teague and with Schroeder. This game, it was we just needed something. I felt like I was searching the whole game trying to find some group that could both guard and score, and we ended up with an unusual group, those 2 little guards, and they got us back in it. On Nerles play after Gasol dominating in the 1st quarter -- 3m3s Oh yes he did. I thougt there were some difficult decisions on some of his steals and blocked shots. I think that the tape will show that. Aaron Brooks at the end of the game did a good job of going at him on picks and rolls. I thought, for the most part, you sit there, really the ball didn't go into anybody elses hands other than Aaron Brooks and Pau Gasol in that 4th period, and we did good. They had 92 points in regulation. I think Nerlens at the end in regulation got a little bit fatigued and Aaron went at him, but by and large I thought he had a hell of a game. Bringing him back quickly after after picking up 5 fouls -- 4m0s He was [Robinson playing well]. I just still feel like Nerlens, because I brought him back in with 4:20, I think it was. I feel like Nerlens, for us, is better. I feel like his protection at the rim, the fact that he's been with me now for 2 years, one off the court one on the court, all my guys, with Ish and Thomas and Isaiah, there is such a lack of familiarity and knowledge, of what we're really trying to do, and you see it really come to a head when the games get close. You're not really able to run much with much detail, and I think thats part of my decision to go with Nerlens. On if he trusts Nerlens to finish the game with 5 fouls -- 4m47s I think that there is some of that. I'd be lying if I said that's all of it. I put him on because I think he's good. I think that he gives us our best chance to win. There is a tiny element that you want to grow him and feature him and put him in those situations, but he's shown over the past few weeks just how dominant he can be at the rim. On Thomas Robinson -- 5m18s If you just look at it on minutes played, the stats that he produces just on minutes played, it kind of speaks for itself. He peppers stats sheets regularly. And he especially peppers the rebounding stat sheed. When you look at his tenacity, and his ability to go after things and come up with things, there is a spirit and a competitive side that you just can't help but really respect...He wants to be on the court. He's trying to find minutes, trying to find a role. You just don't come in and take minutes from guys that have been here and know our system intimiately. There's a grooming part of Thomas that I'm aware of. On Robinson getting 15 rebounds in 17 minutes -- 6m24s It's funny. I did it when I walked in there. I looked at the stat sheet, I didn't realize he had that volume of rebounds in that small amount of rebounds. On whether the Luc attempt at the buzzer was what he wanted -- 6m40s No doubt. He's wide open. He had struggled in the game, but I thought that there was enough time with 8 seconds where Luc could look to shoot it, or kick it over to the corner, we put Isaiah on his same side, there's a lot of time. I would back him shooting that midrange shot to win a game 10 times out of 10.
