[on the win] -- 0m0s I think I am asked so often about the situation that we are in, getting people used to losing all the time, is it going to become a habit, how do you deal with that? And it's just so far from the truth. I feel like it's an opportunity for us to find ways to win. We know that when we do win, they probably aren't going to be blowouts. So having these guys learn how to win, and close out a game, and deal with situations, and execute things that are drawn on the side, there are so many benefits that come, even in the situation that we are in, on learning how to win. [erasing memories of losing 17 in a row] -- 0m55s I don't really know. We try to stay pretty grounded, and understand what we're all about and what our purpose is. It does seem a while ago, whether what we've done lately has erased that fact from peoples minds, I don't know. [on the game winner being MCW's shot] -- 1m32s That's the play. To their credit, I had no more timeouts, and so underneath the basket...we don't do a lot, but what we do we try to drill it and try to do it well. And it's not sexy but it's ours, and it's spaced, and it's his. And he used it, and he found a way to, again, help us close out a game. [Winning back to back games] -- 1m56s Well, momentum builds, always, when they feel good about themselves. They felt good about themselves last night, closing out a game on the road. We really felt bad about the last time we played at home against Milwaukee. The crowd again is just fantastic, really, really helpful, and we wanted to give a heck of a lot better back than we gave the last time. And I think that when you start feeling good about yourselves, those young guys ... and look at the depth of players that we played. You have Jerami coming in, I sat Luc, Luc was having an okay night, ended up closing out the game for us. You get JaKarr Sampson that comes in and is just a ball of energy, slapping the floor, wants to guard somebody. You have Tony Wroten and Michael Carter-Williams have 9 assists / 9 assists as a backcourt. Tony to the rim 10 times. We were in the bonus at the 10 minute mark of the 4th period. So all of those things sort of weigh in to just the good vibe amongst the group. And [winning] back to back games are a byproduct of just feeling good about themselves, and they should. [Tony played well] -- 3m19s You just try to enjoy the ride as best you can because you have no idea, at times, where it's going to take you. His speed, and we started the 4th period and it was the message at the time out is [that] we need to amp this up. We need to make this even faster. Back to back games, this is our home court, we're younger, we take such great pride in our fitness. It's an opportunity for me to really remind them of why we work as hard as we do, why they get massages and recovery and hydration and all of that. And off we went. We started the period with a fantastic pace, led by him [Wroten], and then you throw some of those other young thoroughbreds out there, those young athletes, and you can't hit what you can't catch. And they couldn't hit him. And he forced us, and those other young athletes, to run with him. He was fantastic. [clamping down on D] -- 4m26s You've heard me talk about our emphasis this year, from the day we started training camp at Stockton, and what you're seeing is you're seeing just a very simple system finally take shape and people getting clarity on basic rules. And we make some subtle adjustments, like we had to on David West and like we had to on Joe Johnson last night, but why and large what you're doing now is you're taking a bunch of long athletes, that are playing hard, and they're getting to balls sooner than they did a month ago, because they're understanding that first step. They're not thinking as much as they used to. I'm proud of our defense. And you saw that group that we put out there. You can go long, you can go athletic, you can go a little bit bulky and just a little bit more ground-bound with different people, but if you go back and look at the tape, you'll notice that we've ended games with a certain defensive lineup that we think is our best at this stage, and it's born out of lenght and athletes. [Tony being more of a complete passer] -- 5m33s I think it's real conversations that were had after the Milwaukee game. The group is very close. You've heard me talk about I don't want this program being run from the top down. I don't want them having to look at me all the time and do this, it's got to be run from the team up. It's their team, and it's their culture, and it's their set of behaviors. We were selfish against Milwaukee. We didn't pass the ball. And we play in a crowd, people know we can't shoot that well so they jam the paint in, and it's like bowling where we just crash into people, you've heard me say that a lot. The group runs the group, and so the group felt, as a whole group, we needed to share the ball more. It wasn't Tony, it wasn't Michael, it was everybody. And I think the group has bought in the last 2 days, and you seeing a byproduct of that from Tony. [On it being the best defensive game of the year] -- 6m47s It's one of them. I thought we did pretty well last night too, closing the game out. I liked how we closed out the Cleveland game. You have a team that was down 23 at Miami, and they didn't score very much from that 2 minute mark left in the third and the whole 12 minutes in the 4th. We've been down big, and they don't roll over. They don't roll over. It was one of our better defensive effots.
